Alcott School is a caring, cooperative, and respectful community of learners.

Alcott School has created an atmosphere with multiple opportunities for students to learn about their world and about themselves.  I am a firm believer that education is a partnership between parents, staff, and students and we will invite you often to particiapte in your child's education.  I look forward to working with each of you to help your child succeed in school.

Check out the Parent Home Activities link for grade specific fun and educational activites that parents can do at home with their children.  These language arts and math activities will reinforce skills taught at each grade level.

The Important Updates link is a place for parents to find important health and school-related information.

The Principal's Letter link includes my monthly parent letter, as well as past letters.

The Principal's Coffee schedule for the 2013-2014 school year is as follows:
  • Tuesday, May 20 at 9:00 a.m. -- Technology
We invite you to attend the Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety Principal's Coffee hosted by Emily Sypole (Library Media Specialist) and John Peachey (Instructional Technology Specialist).  There will be several topics discussed, including the current Digital Citizenship Library curriculum, the Technology Use Survey taken by fourth and fifth grade students, and the fifth grade Internet Safety lessons co-taught this spring by Ms. Sypole and Mr. Peachey.  In addition, we will be distributing our “Digital Citizenship: Teaching Children to be Safe and Responsible Online” pamphlet that we recently developed as a parent resource.  There will be an opportunity for discussion and questions as well.  The focus of the discussion will be the curriculum currently taught in grades 3, 4, and 5, though all parents are encouraged to attend.

Thank you.
